1 ½ pounds asparagus, cleaned but left whole
olive oil, salt and pepper to taste
Choose thin young asparagus if possible.
Preheat oven to 450° F.
Gently toss the asparagus with the olive oil, salt and pepper.
Spread out in a roasting or jelly roll pan. Roast in the oven about 10 minutes, until tender-crisp and slightly browned, turning occasionally.
